Dear N.C.R.S. Member,
It is with great pleasure to advise you of the 10th Anniversary of the
Quebec Chapter
of the N.C.R.S. There has always been a great Corvette following here in Quebec
and in 1996 our Founders got together under the leadership of Gillles Massie
and formed our chapter to better serve the Corvette community. Later Brian Hay
took over and since that time we have been very busy with all sorts of activities
to satisfy the interest of our membership.
Many Corvettes have gone through our judging program at our Spring Chapter
meets, many road tours throughout Quebec and Vermont and so many Judging
Schools and Tech Sessions during the cold, snowy, winter months.
Many of you enjoyed our Quebec Regional held in conjunction of the New England
Chapter in July 2002 – I still see the t-shirts at many Regionals.
It was a great event which we have had many requests to repeat someday.
We have been a very active chapter despite our short driving season, so
much so that we have too many events to report for the Annual Chapter Flight
Award. We have received a Top Flight award for the last two years which
we are very proud of.
Among our membership is a great group of knowledgeable Corvette fans, many
hands-on restorers and a high proportion of multiple car owners. Some are
active on the Discussion Board, others go to the Regionals and a large group attends
Carlisle each year.
With many members of a French speaking background we are the only chapter
with a bilingual newsletter and web page. By going the extra mile to translate various
information, we have been able to get maximum N.C.R.S. exposure to our French
speaking members and make membership a user friendly place.
We have enjoyed our relationships with all N.C.R.S. Directors, Team Leaders and
Membership that we have encountered and look forward to many more years as one
of your active and dedicated Canadian Chapters. We also want to thank everyone
for their support and assistance to our members over the years.
A special thank you to Mary Ievers for her dedication to the chapter and help
at so many
events and to Jane Hay for her great talent on the web site. And of course
thanks to all the directors and the membership for making it all happen. We look
forward to a great anniversary year with special events including our Saint Sauveur
Chapter Meet on June 9.
We invite you to join us there.
Very Truly Yours,
Robert Cracower
Chairman NCRS Quebec
