Saturday, June third 4 PM. the skys over Saint Sauveur opened up end the rains came down on our parade as Corvettes scattered from the judging field to the underground parking lot of the hotel, in a half hour we were back to sunshine and the presentations capped off a great 24 hours of Corvette excitement. It started with the arrival of guests from near and far and setting up the judging field, Happy hour, dinner at Le Bifteque and to top off the evening a judging school on engine pads given so expertly by Al Grenning. My sincere thanks to our new Ottawa members- Rob & Sue Fearon and Steve Bell & Kathy for the great job of preparing the judging field for the cars - it was definitely beyond the call of duty. Also thanks to all the owners and judges that were in attendance to help make the event a success. No question about it - all those judging schools paid off as we judged 7 cars this time and finished early. To save time for the presentations we did our door prize drawing at lunchtime and thanks to our generous supporters almost everyone received something. In addition goodie bags were provided to all. Contributors are listed on the Recognition Page. The new Quebec polo shirts were also distributed at the meet and many of you wore them very proudly. We have stock for those that didn't order yet. Other "out of towners" included Scott & Kay Sinclair, Jim & Sharon Wright, Al & Judy Ann Grenning, Angelo Finateri and of course the owners - Rob & Sue, Steve & Kathy and John Caissie of Georgetown, Ontario. The Al Grenning presentation was one of the highlights of the meet and there were many questions after the session. This was a real education for many of us beginners. Another incident worth mentioning was the arrival of new member Leon Garfinkle on Saturday morning in a pool of antifreeze. His water pump on his beautiful 1970 Roadster decided to go on the way up and we pushed him onto the judging field to enter the event. Quick work on the cell phone found a pump nearby which arrived by taxi and Al Grenning and his team made the repair in time for the operations check. This was a first for N.C.R.S. QUEBEC and one Leon will never forget. In fact he was so moved by the experience that he went home and wrote an article about it at 3 A. M. for The Restorer Magazine. All in all it was another great meet and I am sorry for all those that could not make it. Mark the first weekend in June for next year as we may add a drive tour to Mount Tremblant on the Sunday.

Samedi 3 juin , 16:00h les cieux au dessus de St-Sauveur s'ouvrent et déversent leur pluie sur notre parade alors que les Corvettes se sont dispersées rapidement du terrain de jugement vers le stationnement sous-terrain de l'hotel. Une demi-heure plus tard le soleil était de retour et les présentations terminèrent un 24 heures fantastique de la fièvre Corvette. Le tout débuta avec l'arrivée d'invités venant de près et de loin et l'installation du terrain de jugement. "Happy Hour " dîner à Le Biftèque, et pour terminer la soirée, une école de jugement de coussins de moteur présentée avec expertise par AI Grenning. Mes sincères remerciements aux nouveaux membres d'Ottawa - Rob & Sue Fearon et Steve Bell & Kathy pour un travail exceptionnel lors de la préparation du terrain de jugement des autos, détait beaucoup plus qu'espéré. Merci aussi à tous les propriétaires et les juges qui étaient sur place pour aider au succès de cet évènement. Sans aucun doute, toutes ces écoles de jugement ont portées fruits puisque nous avons jugé 7 autos et avons terminé tôt. Afin de sauver du temps, nous avons fait tiré les prix de présence durant l'heure du lunch et un grand merci à la générosité de nos partisans puisque pratiquement tout le monde a reçu quelque chose. Il y avait en plus des sacs à surprise pour tous. Les noms des collaborateurs apparaissent sur la page de reconnaissance. La nouvelle chemise polo du Québec fut également distribuée lors de la rencontre et elle fut portée fièrement par la plus part d'entre vous. Nous en avons en stock pour ceux qui n'en n'ont pas encore commandé. Parmi les gens qui venaient d'en dehors de la ville, il y avait Scott & Kay Sinclair, Jim & Sharon Wright, Al & Judy Ann Grenning, Angelo Finatari et naturellement les propriétaires Rob & Sue, Steve & Kathy et John Caissie de Georgetown, Ontario. La présentation de Al Grenning fut l'un des instants le plus marquant de la rencontre et beaucoup de questions furent posées après la session. Ce fut une formidable éducation pour plusieurs d'entre n ' ous, les novices. Un autre évènement qui mérite d'être mentionné fut l'arrivée dans une marre d'antigel d'un nouveau membre Leon Garfinkle. La pompe à eau de son magnifique Roadster 70 a décidée de lâcher en cors de route et nous l'avons poussé sur le terrain de jugement afin qu'il participe à l'évènement. Après quelques appels sur un téléphone cellulaire, une pompe fut trouvée tout près et livrée par taxi. Al Grenning et son équipe ont effectué la réparation en temps pour la vérification d'opération. Ceci fut une première pour NCRS Québec et Leon ne l'oubliera jamais. En fait, il fut tellement ému par l'expérience qu'il s'en est retourné chez lui pour écrire un article pour le magazine Restorer à 3:00h du matin. En tout et partout ce fut une rencontre formidable et je regrette pour ceux qui n'ont pû se joindre à nous. Réservez la première fin de semaine de juin l'an prochain car nous y incluerons probablement une randonnée à Mont Tremblant le dimanche.
